Jarrod Bleijie refuses review into Olympics contractor with alleged bikie links

Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie has dismissed calls for an independent audit into a prominent Olympic infrastructure contractor, despite recent allegations of associations with organised crime groups. The contractor, BMD, came under intense scrutiny during this week’s CFMEU commission of inquiry over claims it engaged a security firm with reported ties to an outlawed motorcycle organisation earlier this year.

The testimony has raised significant concerns regarding the vetting processes for multi-billion dollar state projects. However, the State Government remains steadfast, asserting that current procurement frameworks are robust enough to manage such risks without the need for a dedicated external review into the 2024 contracts in question.
